Workshop „Ethnobotany - herbs, environment, human”

Objectives

The participants will gain knowledge about ethnobotany and use of plants for food and medicine. The understanding of how this knowledge can be applied in the context of the participants` countries will be facilitated. The workshop will have impact both on those interested in the environment, tourism and ecology issues, and those for who the impact of Ethnobotany on the educational and social goals is important.

It is not the purpose of Workshop to provide further vocational training for professionals.

Riga and several regions of Latvia.

Who can benefit

The Workshop is open to any adult learner who must be aged 18 or above and either:

-    a national of or permanently residing (or  registered as refugee or asylum-seeker) in one  of the countries participating in the Programme,  namely: the 27 Member States of the European Union, EFTA-EEA  countries, "Overseas countries and territories" defined by Council Decision 2001/822/EC and Turkey;

-    a national of other countries enrolled in regular courses in schools, institutions of higher education or vocational training, or in adult learning organizations in a participating country, or employed in a participating country, under the conditions fixed by each of the participating countries, taking into account the nature of the programme.

Participants must come from at least three different participating countries, in addition to the host country, and no more than 1/3 of the participants should originate from the same country.

Latvian citizens (max 10) are eligible to participate in the workshop but cannot be funded through the Grundtvig Programme; they must contact the organizer for further information about course, accommodation and meals fees.

Very important notice

We suggest to participants with an allergy to meadow flowers and plants, and to bees and honey to do not participate to the Workshop!

Deadline for sending the registration form: 15 January 2013.

If your candidature to this Workshop is accepted, the Workshop organizer will return to you a signed copy of the application form.

After receipt of the signed application form, a copy must be sent to the participants country Grundtvig national agency and to the Latvia Grundtvig agency:
